Therapeutic Mentoring

What is therapeutic Mentoring?

  • Therapeutic mentoring offers structured, strength-based support services to youth under the age of 18. This is a one on one service. 
  • Therapeutic mentors at our agency are trained mental health professionals and offer unique insight into our youth. 
  • Services include supporting, coaching, and training the youth in age-appropriate behaviors and coping skills, socialization techniques,  problem-solving and conflict resolution.

  • 1. Population(s) Served

    Therapeutic Mentoring is available for youth and adults ages 5-25.


    We are an inclusive organization. We do not discriminate based on race/ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc.

  • 2. Frequency of Services

    Therapeutic mentoring services are provided a minimum of once per week for a minimum of an hour and half. 


    Most of our mentors have clients for longer periods of time. This is based on the scheduling of the youth and staff member.

  • 3. Settings

    Therapeutic mentoring services are community based. Most of the service delivery happens in the community. 


    There is an opportunity to have services in the home as well. 


    Mentors will also take youth to the Fatherhood Revisited offices as well.

  • 4. Payer and Funding Sources

    We bill Medicaid for services.

  • 5. Hours of Services

    Our offices are open by appointment from 10am-6pm.


    Mentors, case managers, and therapists may work outside of thise hours. Schedules are determined by the staff and client.

  • 6. Fees

    We bill Medicaid for services.


    We also have the ability for families to self-pay for services.


    If you are self-pay, we will discuss the pay scale with you before intake.

  • 7. Days of Service

    We serve youth Monday-Friday. 


    Weekends are based on the availability of staff, but are not a requirement of the agency.

  • 8. Referral Sources

    Service providers, parents/guardians, adult clients, school administrators or counselors, courts, child protective services, and CMEs can make referrals.

  • 9. Staff Providing this Service

    Services are provided by direct staff of Fatherhood Revisited.


    Staff are trained and supervised regularly. They meet all of the requirements of the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services and this agency, including background checks.
